The mission
Why this site exists.
SAflightdeals is an independent, South African-owned flight-comparison website. It was built for one reason: most South African flight sites are years out of date. Some still list airlines that stopped flying in 2012 as if you could book them tomorrow. We believe travellers deserve current information — which airlines actually fly your route in 2026, what advance-purchase fares genuinely look like, and what happened to your money when an airline was grounded.
The site is built and maintained by an independent South African web developer with a formal web-development qualification, who researches, writes and updates every page personally. There is no content farm, no outsourced writers, and no AI-generated fare data presented as fact — every carrier listed on a route page is verified against current schedules, and every page carries the date it was last reviewed.
The model
How the site makes money.
SAflightdeals is free to use and always will be. When you search flights on this site, the search and any booking are handled securely by Travelstart, one of South Africa's largest online travel agencies. If you complete a booking, we may earn a commission from Travelstart at no extra cost to you — the fare you pay is identical to booking on Travelstart directly.
That commission model is why we have no reason to steer you to any particular airline: we earn the same regardless of which carrier you choose. Our only incentive is that the comparison is accurate enough that you come back. You can read exactly how we source and review fare figures on our fare review policy page.
Corrections
Corrections and accountability.
If you spot anything on this site that is out of date or incorrect — a fare anchor, a carrier that has changed its network, a refund deadline — please tell us via the contact page. Verified corrections are applied to the live site, and the page's review date is updated. Accuracy is the entire point of this project.
Editorial standards
Useful pages earn their place.
SAflightdeals does not publish a route page simply to increase the URL count. A page must add route-specific airline, airport, timing, baggage or booking information that helps a traveller make a better decision.
Operational facts are checked against airline and airport sources. Fare examples are labelled as guides, not guarantees, and the live search is separated clearly from editorial content.
