Know who you book with
Your search starts here. Your booking is with Travelstart.
Search available flights for your dates, then compare the baggage, times and total price.
Travelstart handles checkout, payment and ticketing. SAflightdeals is an independent affiliate.
For an existing booking, use the support details in your Travelstart confirmation. We cannot change or refund tickets.
We may earn a commission when you book through our links. SAflightdeals does not add its own booking fee. Our comparison approach.
Fare anchors
How we handle prices.
The live Travelstart search is the source for current bookable prices. SAflightdeals does not present a permanent “from” fare as if it were live, because airline inventory changes continuously.
Where an editorial example is genuinely useful, it must be clearly dated, labelled as illustrative and secondary to the live search. The final fare shown before payment always outranks static copy.
Carriers
How carrier lists are verified.
Route operator lists are checked against official airline destination and schedule pages, then compared with the live booking flow. Competitor pages and search snippets may reveal a question, but they are not treated as the final authority.
Grounded airlines — Mango, Kulula/Comair, 1time, SA Express and others — are covered on a dedicated grounded airlines guide with their actual status and refund positions, and are never listed as bookable anywhere on this site.
Review cycle
The review cycle.
High-risk facts such as operating airlines, baggage rules, refund windows and route suspensions are checked against primary sources before a visible review date is changed. Lower-risk evergreen guidance is reviewed on a rolling basis.
A date is not refreshed merely to make a page look current. When a fact cannot be verified confidently, the precision is removed or the uncertainty is stated.
Source priority
Primary sources beat recycled claims.
Airline check-in, baggage, identification, route and refund information is checked against the operating airline, airport operator, regulator or formal business-rescue and liquidation notices where available.
Search-result snippets, old news articles and competitor pages can reveal a question worth answering, but they are not treated as the final authority when a current primary source exists.
When a claim cannot be verified confidently, SAflightdeals removes the precision rather than inventing certainty.

We target the question without inventing the answer.
Pages such as “cheapest month to fly” explain demand patterns and a repeatable search method. They do not turn a temporary fare scan into a permanent promise.
Airline comparison pages separate base price from baggage, flexibility, route coverage and airport choice. When a policy can change, the airline's official page remains the final authority.
